Step 1: Declare your interest with IEFP
  • Register on the Institute of Employment and Professional Training (IEFP) website and fill out a form to declare your interest in finding work in Portugal.

Step 2: Gather your documents
  • Passport: A valid passport with at least three months of validity beyond your intended stay and a photocopy of the main page.
  • Application forms: Completed and signed visa application forms.
  • Photographs: Two passport-sized, recent photos.

  • Police clearance certificate: A certificate from your country of residence, issued less than 90 days before submission and with the Hague Apostille if required.
  • Travel and medical insurance: A valid travel and medical insurance policy that covers at least €30,000 for medical expenses and repatriation throughout the Schengen area.
  • Other documents: Educational certificates, a CV, and a statement of purpose outlining your reasons for seeking a job in Portugal.
Step 3: Submit your application
  • Schedule an appointment at the Portuguese embassy, consulate, or VFS Global center in your home country.
  • Submit your application and all required documents in person at your appointment. You may need to attend a visa interview.
